Who wouldn’t love to be able to shoot their best friend’s formal engagement session?! Especially a gorgeous friend like Quana! I always am honored and humbled to be the chosen photographer for family and friends, and really love getting to create beautiful imagery for such a special moment in their lives! I met Quana at Howard University one week into freshman year and we’ve been close girlfriends since then! She is one of my best friends and we’ve grown into the women we are throughout our 14+ year friendship!

 

From the day I met Deiric, I knew he was a perfect fit for my girlfriend who has such a bright, fun-loving and goofy personality because Deiric was the exact same way. Hanging with the two together felt like we’d all be friends for years…the jokes just did not stop rolling in. Also noticed that Deiric treats Quana so well and is an amazing cook!

When describing their engagement, Quana says “He planned a very well thought out engagement party for me the night he proposed. He reserved the private room at Ruth’s Chris and invited 35 of our closest family and friends. I thought we were just going for dinner and drinks (something we often enjoy doing together) but little did I know, I would be walking into a room filled with loved ones” (Munaluchi Bridal).

 

She goes on to describe the special moment, as she walked in the song “Fall for You” by Leela James played as he sang along. Of course,  overjoyed she cried tears of complete happiness especially as her father showed up during the second verse, and presented her to Deiric with the engagement ring. Quana is definitely a daddy’s girl, so this was an extremely special moment that just had her heart overflowing with love and joy!

Deiric went onto giving a very heartfelt speech in front of all the family telling of why he had chosen her for his wife, and how grateful he was for her in his growth to becoming a man. He then got on one knee and proposed, and of course, she said YES!

 

When planning out their engagement, they wanted a formal engagement session in downtown Charlotte to match their Black Tie wedding theme. Quana says she absolutely loves the wedding planning process so far and she cannot wait to see her husband for the first look at their wedding!
