WOW! Finally sharing some of my images the Ellements retreat in Atlanta, GA last February on my BLOG feels really good! I’m still in love with these pictures and how well the styled shoot was planned and executed by Elle Danielle and her team! That weekend was so much fun too because I got to spend a lot of quality time with 5 other amazing female photograpHERs, all of us mentee’s of Elle Danielle, and talk about our respective businesses and the different issues with face. Elle prepared a lot of great information to share with us, ranging from contracts to editing and workflow. We also participated in a styled shoot planned by Elle Daniel and Ambiance Decor – but amazing wedding vendors in the Georgia area.
As I think back on my time spent in Atlanta that weekend and what I learned and was able to incorporate into my everyday business workflow, I’m easily able to realize why workshops like those are so important! Evaluating what level you are in your business and what exactly you need help with or what needs to be improved can help you find the right mentorships and/or workshops to guide you and provide you insight. There are so many great photographers that offer business workshops as well as workshops where you learn different shooting techniques. I would highly suggest that you do you research on the photographer first before signing up for a workshop to make sure that their business model and strategies they use appeal to you and how you’d like to run your business. I would also ask yourself vital questions about your current business model and the areas you need assistance in specifically. That way, you can get the most out of the workshop by being prepared with specific questions that apply directly to the issues you face.
