Katherine and Max’s engagement session was a lot of fun to shoot! They came with a few ideas, but really let me take control over the shoot, which I love. Katherine was SO excited about kicking off all of the wedding festivities starting with their official engagement session in Old Town Virginia. We picked their engagement session date weeks in advance, choosing Halloween day,  with the hopes that the weather would cooperate with us and we would be able to use the fall foliage as a pretty scenic backdrop for their images. Thankfully, mother nature was on our side; we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day for an engagement session!

Katherine and Max’s story is not like most…Max knew Katherine before she knew him. They both grew up in New York and his mother and her aunt (his Godmother) are best friends, which naturally made their families close. With such a unique family situation like this, it was bound for them to meet one day!

Katherine and her family left New York when she was 6 and moved to Florida with no idea what God had planned for her. 25 years later, a birthday party reunited Katherine and Max, where they caught up on old times in New York and where they are currently. However, even at that time, they had no idea of what God had planned for them in the future! Like most say, God has a special way of working things out…

A random phone call from Katherine to Max in October 2013 is what brought the two together (and to think that she only called to ask about his nephew) and they have been inseparable ever since.

On April 16, 2015, after joking and questioning Katherine for hours about her perfect proposal, Max got on one knee and asked Katherine if she would be his wife. Katherine excitedly said YES!!!

I can’t wait to capture their beautiful wedding day on July 31st, 2016 and to meet their families and hear all the stories of how their love has unfolded!
