Jason and Davita will always hold a special place in my heart, because our friendship started long before Rhea Whitney Photography was created! I’ve known Jason for about 10 years now, as we were in the same friend circle back in high school and continued to be friends post-college. I’ve been able to be a “friend witness” to Jason and Davita’s relationship and how it has evolved over the years. They are truly SO CUTE and in love with each other!! Just like all of us, they have endured their fair share of trials and tribulations through the years, but have always stayed strong and true to each other and their love and conquered the storms that were presented! LOVE ALWAYS PREVAILS!!! <3

When Jason contacted me back in July to capture his surprise proposal to Davita, I was SO excited!! He valued my expertise and thought that it would be a really good idea to have me capture this moment for them as a professional and friend – and I TOTALLY agreed!! We planned all the details of the proposal together, decided on Dumbarton Oaks being the location, – luck was definitely on our side that day! 😉

As the wedding planning started to unfold for, I was so happy to know that they wanted me as their wedding photographer! They picked a date and location and knew the next step was to contact me and confirm me as their engagement and wedding photographer. 🙂 We met and talked about all of the wedding ideas they had and their specific wants for their engagement session at Bus Boys and Poet’s in September and confirmed their shoot for November.

Their engagement shoot was and still is one of my FAVORITE sessions to date! I was a little under the weather on their shoot day, having caught a cold 24 hours with a slight fever but I knew I had to push through and make this session memorable for them! And we did just that!! Jason and Davita came to the session READY for the camera, in their adorable semi-matching outfits! Their outfit selection really complimented each other very well, thanks to the bride (LOL)!
